How Some ADHD Meds Can Cause A Blink of an Eye

In an effort to not loose focus that October is also ADHD month I want to share something I just learned from Arika (my daughter’s) eye doctor.  During the summer she started blinking incestuously.  She would do it often throughout the day and would really not have a rhyme or reason on when or why.  Since Arika also picks at her lips (a form of Trich) we assumed it was a tick and would bring it up with the doctor on the next visit.  In the meantime my husband took the kids to the eye doctor for their annual check up and mentioned that we thought she had a tick.  What we he told him surprised me (and in complete truthfulness I did not believe him) was that Focalin can cause dry eyes in some kids and that Arika had dry eyes.   Now the next thing surprised me even more.  I thought re-wetting drops but instead he highly recommended Nordic Naturals Children’s DHA Strawberry – For Healthy Cognitive Development and Immune Function, 180 Soft Gels.  I was very skeptical  but within a month of giving her 4 a day- she is 10 and weighs about 55lbs – she does not blink anymore and I am a believer!
